No. All band members are enrolled in MUS 3314 – Instrumental Music Ensemble, and receive a credit
for their participation in MVs. We are proud of our volunteer student-musicians!

Each year, The Marching Virginians present this exciting evening of music in conjunction with the
University Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Virginia Tech Jazz Ensemble. Narrated by the Voice of The
Marching Virginians, Dr. Tony Distler, this concert provides something for everyone’s musical
tastes. The performance concludes with The Marching Virginians presenting their ONLY INDOOR
CONCERT OF THE YEAR. It’s fun for the whole family!
Tickets for the 2008 Band-A-Rama (Date: TBA) will go on sale in the Summer of 2008. Tickets are
$10.00 for the general public!
All proceeds from the performance go directly to supporting scholarships in the Department of
Music.

Come by a rehearsal during the fall, or better yet, come to Band-A-Rama to see the MVs and help
support scholarships for deserving students in the Department of Music!
-
Yes we do! Over the course of the past few years the Marching Virginians have been featured in
exhibition at Narrows High School, as well as the Charlottesville Cavalcade of Bands and the
Oaktown Classic. During their exhibition tour in 2005, the MVs performed for over 7,000 bandmembers,
fans, and band lovers!

The Marching Virginians are lucky to have dedicated alumni, students and fans who have given graciously
to the MVs over the years. Through their efforts, we have established the Marching Virginians Endowment
through the College of Liberal and Human Sciences. The current MVs Endowment is well over $300,000 and
growing!
In addition, supporters of the MVs were instrumental in the fundraising for the engraved sousaphones
that have graced Lane Stadium on gamedays for the past 6 years!
If you are interested in giving to the MVs, you may do so through the
College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at
Virginia Tech!
