Drum Major - Jordan Booker
Jordan Booker is a member of the VTubas section and is from Roanoke. He is currently in his
third year with the MVs and second year as drum major. Jordan is pursuing dual degrees in
Psychology and Biochemistry, as well as a minor in Medicine and Society. He will be
volunteering as a Career Services Associate for both the fall and spring semesters.

Drum Major - Stephen Shelburne
Stephen Shelburne is from Christiansburg and is entering his third year with The Marching
Virginians and his second year as drum major. He is a saxophone player majoring in Music
Education and plans to graduate in 2010 with a Bachelors degree in Music and a Masters degree
in Education.

Executive Officer - Joshua Seager
Joshua Seager is a fifth-year senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering. His dream is to
become a roller coaster designer. Josh has been playing alto saxophone for 13 years and has
been a member of The Marching Virginians for five years. Music has always been a big part of
his life between marching band, chorus, and even singing for a rock band back home. He would
like to give all the thanks in the world first and foremost to my savior Jesus Christ and also
to his parents because without them he would not have had the support to play saxophone.

Instrument Supply Officer - Jason Christensen
Jason Christensen is a junior from Newport News. He plans to graduate in 2009 with a
Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Jason plays Tuba in The Marching Virginians
and also plays in the Hokies Basketball Pep Band and numerous other concert ensembles at
Virginia Tech. He is proud to serve as an officer in The Marching Virginians and hopes for a
national championship football season!

Librarian - Tim Coimbra
Tim Coimbra is from Woodbridge and will graduate this year with a dual degree in Chemical
Engineering and Mathematics. If he's not studying, he can either be found with the MV Trumpets
or with his brothers of Kappa Kappa Psi. When you are at the football games, Tim reminds you to
remember two things: "Don't be a Jerk" and you're the pride of VPI.

Librarian - Kate Pereira
Kate Pereira is from Apex, NC. She plans to graduate from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of
Science in Biology and attend nursing school. Kate is a junior and entering her third year in
The Marching Virginians. She is a member of the piccolo section. She also plays flute in the
University Campus Band and is involved with Campus Crusades for Christ. Kate looks forward to
being able to serve The Marching Virginians and is excited about another great season.

Operations Officer - Brian Connell
Brian Connell grew up as a military brat roaming around the country, but now lives in
Fredericksburg. He is currently pursuing a degree in Biomechanics in the ESM Department
and hopes to one day build better medical devices for those who have lost limbs or sustained
serious injury. Music helps him keep his sanity and when he isn't doing things for or with the
MVs he's singing a capella or just relaxing.

Operations Officer - Jessica Johnson
Jessica Johnson is a 2nd year graduate student at Virginia Tech and is a proud member of the
VT Drumline. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing
Management in 2006 and plans to graduate with her Masters of Business Administration this
upcoming spring. She works as a Graduate Assistant in the MBA and International Programs
Office. This is her fifth year as a member of The Marching Virginians and she looks forward
to another great season.

Personnel Officer - Alison Wood
Alison Wood is a junior from Richmond and a member of the baritone section. She is working on
dual degrees in Spanish and Public and Urban Affairs with a concentration in Public and Non-Profit
Management, and hopes to graduate some day. Ali enjoys dancing with the VTONES at football games,
wearing sandals to practice, pretending she didn't hear the five-minute whistle, and playing the
Stupid Ninja Game.

Public Relations Officer - Sarah Hangsleben
Sarah Hangsleben is a senior from Woodbridge and is a member of the VT Pix. She will graduate
this spring, after only four years, with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, concentrating on
PK-6 Education, and three minors. She is also an officer in Tau Beta Sigma, the honorary music
sorority, and an RA in Slusher Tower. Sarah is looking forward to a fabulous senior year which
will hopefully include a trip to New Orleans in January!

Service Officer - Natalie Madeja
Natalie Madeja is a junior from Pittsburgh, PA. She plans to graduate from Virginia Tech with a
degree in Mathematics, attain a masters degree in education, and pursue her dream of becoming a
high school math teacher. Natalie plays the tuba in both The Marching Virginians “super VTubas
section” and the university concert bands. She is a prideful member of the Hokie Ambassador’s
organization, Campus Crusade for Christ, NLCF, and the Virginia Tech Math Club. Natalie fell
in love with The Spirit of Tech before attending the university, and looks forward to serving
the band during another great season.

Treasurer - Shannon Snyder
Shannon Snyder is a senior from outside of Boston, MA. She will graduate this spring with dual
degrees in Animal and Poultry Sciences and Agriculture and Applied Economics. This is her fourth
year with The Marching Virginians and her second year in the clarinet section. She also loves
her position as the Vice President of Tau Beta Sigma, the band service sorority. She hopes to
go to veterinary school after graduation.
